- Description of operations
- Capital has been invested since 2006 in the plant and infrastructure in order to increase coal throughput capacity from 90,000 run-of-mine (ROM) tpm to a maximum of 350,000 ROM tpm.
- Product
- Woestalleen processes run from the Vuna/Zonnebloem mine and produces 2Mtpa of high grade coal and approximately 0.3Mtpa of the lower grade coal.
- The balance of the coal is supplied to Eskom and other sectors of the domestic market.
- Latest developments
- Woestalleen is working actively to acquire additional coal resources and reserves within the footprint area. Coal of Africa will develop these opportunities to feed the expanded washing, screening and sizing plant.
