Mooiplaats Colliery provide mobile clinic

As part of Mooiplaats Colliery’s (Coal of Africa) Social and Labour Plan, they committed to provide an equipped mobile clinic to the Department of Health (Gert Sibande Distract) to replace one of the four mobile clinics that were decommissioned due to age. The planning was done in conjunction with Msukaligwa Municipality and Gert Sibande District Council. The mobile clinic was bought late last year and was then converted and branded.

An official handing over ceremony was held at the New Ermelo Primary School on Thursday, 25 July. The ceremony was attended by the executive mayor of Msukaligwa, Mr Sipho Bongwe and the Deputy Director of Health, Ms Dimakatso Mofammere.

Mayor Bongwe thanked the management of Coal of Africa for their commitment and the humble manner in which they brought hope to the community. Deputy Director of Health, Ms Dimakatso Mofammere, was very thankful and said that the vehicle would assist in bringing much needed primary healthcare to the community. She accepted the keys of the vehicle on behalf of the Department of Health (Gert Sibande District) from the General Manager of Mooiplaats Colliery, Mr Moeketsi Sekhokoane.
